The Holidays are a Deal Making Season

November 11, 2017 |

The super active fall months for the Boston luxury real estate market get less active as we move into holiday season. Buyers and sellers are less focused on Boston luxury homes and get distracted by longer to-do lists, like the rest of us. However, real estate transactions still do take place.

In fact, the buyers and/or sellers who are making moves at this time are quite serious and motivated. Boston luxury homes at this time of the year are priced to sell, and sellers may be more motivated to negotiate. Therefore, buyers should take advantage of that. We see some price reductions in this time period of Boston luxury homes that have been on the market for quite some time or were overpriced initially. The holiday season is definitely a buyer’s market.

There are many condos and single family homes on the Boston luxury real estate market right now. The sale of luxury townhouses are naturally more active when families with children are more pressed for time to settle in before the school year. Therefore, house shopping in the fall market or during the holiday season is not on their radar. Needless to say, this is exactly when they should plan ahead and make a deal.

I would call the holiday season the “deal making season” and take advantage of it. Call me anytime to see what luxury properties are on the market now to benefit from the seasonal price reductions.
