Record Breaking July Home Sales in Mass.

Not only did Boston experience an earthquake yesterday (bizarre!), but July home sales reports were released. Last month marked the first time in six months that single-family home sales have increased since January. The increased stability of the statewide market will further strengthen Boston luxury real estate.

Bay State July Home Sales Increase Reverses Five Month Trend

For the first time since January, sales of Massachusetts single-family homes increased in July, posting a 7 percent increase from July 2010, according to the latest report by The Warren Group.

A total of 3,847 single-family homes statewide sold in July, up from 3,590 during the same month last year. This reverses a trend of five consecutive months of year-over-year decreases. Read more...

Boston luxury real estate sales are included in this report, but not distinguished from other single-family homes (less than $2M). This is  great news for home values across Mass.
