Boston Luxury Homes Within Walking Distance of Town

January 18, 2014 |

Yes, the Boston luxury real estate market is hot, and there are plenty of buyers (too many!) with cash who continue to chase the same properties. The result? Frustrated and disheartened buyers who are ready to throw in the towel.

Brookline is a Boston Luxury Real Estate Gem
Let me tell you, it is not as complicated and dramatic as it seems. There are great options right outside of Metro Boston, and it's in your best interest to check out a variety of neighborhoods and not be focused strictly on one area. All the towns in close proximity to Boston are not only a few short minutes drive to the city, many Boston luxury homes are within walking distance. Most of these towns have been revitalized and there is so much happening in the town centers.

Brookline has several town centers, for example Chestnut Hill Mall. It has been completely refurbished, full of fabulous shops and restaurants and fancy movie theaters. Coolidge Corner or Brookline Village are two other vibrant town centers in Brookline that feel like living in Boston. The Medical area and nearby the museum are ideal places to live for those who have their hearts set on living in Boston. It is as if you are living in the heart of the city with everything you need around you.

Take Longwood Towers, a gorgeous and grand residential tower, with only a 20-minute walk to Boston located across the street from the train station. The building has a 24-hr concierge, fitness center and garage parking and plenty of amenities. And yes, you get much more for your money than you can get in Boston. If you’re looking for a 3 Bedroom plus den, you pay upwards of $3M in a Boston luxury real estate building with similar amenities.

My new listing at 20 Chapel Street is located in Brookline and is ideal for those who work in the medical area or Metro Boston, but also need a lot of space without paying an arm and a leg.
